No one can erase David Mark’s development footprints in Benue South — Abba Moro
Senator Abba Moro has hailed former Senate President, Senator David Mark, for what he described as his enduring contributions to the development of Benue South, saying no one can erase the former lawmaker’s legacy from the history of the district.
Moro made the remarks during the Idoma Centenary Plus Lecture Series held in Otukpo, Benue State, where political leaders, traditional rulers, professionals and stakeholders gathered to reflect on the past, present and future of the Idoma Nation.
Speaking on the impact of Senator Mark’s years of representation, Moro said the former Senate President facilitated numerous infrastructural projects and developmental initiatives whose benefits continue to be felt across Benue South.
“There is no doubt about it. If you look back at history and we talk about infrastructural development and the rest of them, one of the few things that David Mark has facilitated to come to Benue South will certainly remain a permanent fixture in our existence,” he said.
The lawmaker noted that the legacy of the former Senate President remains evident in various sectors, stressing that his contributions have left lasting footprints that cannot be erased.
According to him, the gathering should serve as an opportunity for the Idoma people to reflect on their collective journey and chart a path towards greater unity and development.
Moro’s remarks came amid tributes to prominent Idoma leaders and discussions on the role of leadership, professionalism and politics in advancing the interests of the Idoma Nation.
The Idoma Centenary Plus Lecture Series brought together eminent sons and daughters of Idoma land, including political office holders, traditional rulers, academics, business leaders and members of the diaspora.
