Benue South 2027: Onuh demands probe as campaign billboards are defaced in Otukpo

The Labour Party’s senatorial candidate for Benue South, Prince Samuel Onuh, has called for a thorough investigation into the vandalism of his campaign billboards in Otukpo, describing the act as a threat to peaceful democratic participation.

Onuh, a former Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, disclosed on Wednesday that he received reports that several of his campaign billboards in Otukpo town had been defaced by unknown persons.

Condemning the incident, the Labour Party candidate said Benue South already faces numerous socio-economic and security challenges, stressing that political violence and destruction of property would only worsen the situation.

“This morning, I was informed that my campaign billboards in Otukpo town were vandalised. This is condemnable. Idoma nation and Otukpo have enough problems already. Political violence and destruction of property will not take us anywhere,” he said.

He urged security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“I call on security agencies to investigate and ensure the perpetrators face the law,” he added.

Despite the development, Onuh said he remained undeterred, expressing confidence in his political journey and his vision for Benue South.

“We are moving forward. We have left Egypt, and we are not going back. Benue South deserves better,” he declared.
