Kidnapped wife, son of Kebbi APC Chairman released
The wife and son of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Yusuf Alhasan, have regained their freedom after spending several days in captivity following their abduction by suspected bandits.
The development was disclosed on Wednesday by security analyst and conflict reporter Bakatsine in a post on his X account.
According to Bakatsine, the victims were released after a ransom was reportedly paid to their abductors.
Family members expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them with prayers during the period of captivity and prayed for lasting peace and improved security across the country.
The victims were abducted on June 22, 2026, when suspected bandits reportedly invaded Alhasan’s residence in the Low-Cost area of Yauri around midnight and took them to an undisclosed location.
The incident had raised fresh concerns over the persistent insecurity in parts of Kebbi State, where kidnappings and armed attacks have continued to affect several communities.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the security agencies nor the Kebbi State Government had officially confirmed the victims’ release or commented on the reported payment of ransom.
