JAMB extends deadline for 2021–2026 outstanding admission offers

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date to either accept or reject them.

The Board moved the deadline from Monday, August 31, 2026, to Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

The extension gives affected candidates additional time to decide whether to accept their pending offers.

JAMB said candidates who accept their admission offers can proceed to print their admission letters. Those who reject their offers will have their admission status changed to “Not Admitted” on their dashboards.

The Board also clarified that candidates who received admission during the 2026 exercise but still have an older offer can reject the previous admission without affecting their new admission.

According to JAMB, candidates who are currently studying at another institution or enrolled in a different programme from the one attached to their outstanding offer can also accept the earlier admission. They can then apply for the relevant correction or deletion where necessary.

The Board stressed that September 30, 2026, is the final deadline for the exercise.

It warned that candidates who fail to accept or reject their outstanding offers before the deadline will automatically have their admission status reverted to “Not Admitted.”

“There will be no further opportunity after the expiration of the extended deadline on Wednesday, 30 September 2026,” the Board stated.

JAMB urged all affected candidates to check their admission status and take the necessary action before the deadline.

The Board warned that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will result in the offer becoming invalid.
