1. The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has clarified that the quack who was alleged to have recently removed the ovary of a teenage girl during a failed appendix surgery in Gaav, Konshisha Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue State is not a trained medical doctor.

 

The NMA in a statement issued Monday in Makurdi by its Benue State branch signed by the Chairman, Dr. Samuel Otene and Secretary, Dr. Terna Gav described as misleading reports of the unfortunate incident which tagged the said quack/culprit, Mr. Agber Kwende, a doctor.
2. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the alleged unrelenting onslaught of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government against Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
PDP berated the Federal Government for its decision to allegedly lock the governor out of the Makurdi Airforce base where he had gone, upon formal invitation, to receive Vice President Yemi Osinbajo last Saturday.
3. Day2 of the week-long entrepreneurial training for youths and women from the Nine Local Government Areas of Benue South Senatorial District being organized by Distinguished Senator Abba Moro.


The training, which features agriculture, ICT, tailoring, cake-baking, soap-making, shoe-making, installations of solar energy systems, internet gadgets and other skills, is part of the Senator’s numerous constituency empowerment programmes for the good people of Benue South.

5. A total of 98,271 persons have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic in Benue state.


This was made known by the State Health Educator, Benue State Primary Healthcare Board, Mr. Emmanuel Beeka at a One- Day Media Refresher Orientation workshop organised by Breakthrough ACTION Nigeria (BA-N) for media professionals in Makurdi.
