Eden Hazard warns Liverpool ahead of Champions League
Eden Hazard is back in form and ready to make Andy Robertson relive his Premier League nightmare in the upcoming Champions League final.
Liverpool to expect Eden Hazard nightmare as Ex-Chelsea attacker sends warning amid UEFA Champions League final clash with Real Madrid.
Liverpool are tipped to cruise a Champions League final win. The Reds are on the hunt for their 7th European title, but a former Blue could be destined to delay the inevitable. Real Madrid will be a test for Jurgen Klopp’s side with a fully fit Eden Hazard at their disposal. The hard work of Vinicius Jr will not go unrewarded, and he is extremely likely to play on Carlo Ancelotti’s left wing. However, there is still room for a Hazardous cameo.
If there’s a player that has never struggled against Liverpool, it’s Hazard. The former Chelsea attacker has always been a force to be reckoned with during his years in the Premier League. Since leaving the Blues, he has suffered multiple injuries disrupting his flow and chances in the Real Madrid jersey. In his three years with the Los Blancos, Hazard has only managed 66 matches, 3344 minutes played.
It’s rather sad how his dream moved panned out, but there’s a chance for him to redeem himself against a side well known to him.
Real Madrid has confirmed that Hazard is part of the squad ahead of the Champions League Final. The Belgian has had his ankle plate removed through surgery and is now clear to play freely. He already looks to be back to the old Hazard in training and is in contention to feature in the final. I have an inkling that Hazard will be looking to make a name for himself whether he starts or comes off the bench.
Chelsea fans have fond memories of Hazard ripping through the Liverpool defence in previous years. Most recently, his 2018 dance into the final third before unleashing a bullet strike past the goalkeeper. The Belgian has a gift for making an impact on his opponents. Current Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson knows all too well the crippling nature of an in-form Eden Hazard.
“When I was at Hull, I played against Eden Hazard,” Robertson said on That Peter Crouch Podcast.
“He ripped me apart at Stamford Bridge. It’s a game I never thought I’d recover from!”
Unfortunately for Robertson, he is about to meet an even hungrier version of Hazard on the weekend. If he gets the chance to play, Hazard has sent a warning. Hopefully, Hazard can have a repeat this on Saturday night and keep Robertson wide awake on Friday night worrying about facing the Chelsea legend.
Speaking ahead of the final, he said, “I am ready just in time to play a part in the Champions League final. I didn’t want to go too fast like last time. The coach understood my situation, as did the medical staff. We have worked well. Now I feel really good.”
“The coach knows that I still have a contract until 2024. My first three seasons at Real have not gone well, So I want to show everyone what I can do. Starting with this Saturday. It has always been a dream to play for Real. It still is.”
If there’s anything to learn from what Hazard can do, it’s that he can work a miracle against his opposition. I’ll be looking forward to whether Ancelotti uses his trick off the bench this Saturday.
