Unknown gunmen have abducted two prominent Labour Party (LP) officials in Abia State during a meeting in Aba. The heavily armed assailants stormed the gathering, held at a local hotel in the state’s commercial hub. The attackers, wearing masks, claimed to be acting on “orders from above” but did not provide further details.
The abducted officials include the Deputy National Chairman, Ceekay Igara, and the Acting State Chairman, Prince G.O. Ndubueze. Witnesses reported that Ndubueze was taken away in an unmarked vehicle, sparking widespread concern.
