Benue: Ex-Ugboju Ward Councillor Jimmy Ogoh Nart dumps PDP

A former councillor from Ugboju Otahe Ward in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. Chief Jimmy Ogoh Nart, has formally resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated October 3, 2024, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, Ogoh Nart cited the absence of equity, fairness, and justice within the party, particularly in the state chapter.
He also decried the marginalization of committed party members and the infiltration of the party despite persistent complaints.
Ogoh Nart, who was elected as councillor in 2020 and contested for the Benue State House of Assembly seat for Adoka/Ugboju constituency in 2023, said his decision was made in good faith after years of dedicated service.
“It was a pleasure to have been elected to represent the good people of Ugboju Otahe… but the ideals I cherished no longer prevail within the party,” he stated in the letter.
He expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to serve and said he hopes his resignation will be received in good faith.
