Former NTA Chairman, Patrick Ogbu resigns from PDP in Ado LGA, joins ADC

A former Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Hon. Patrick Ogbu, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing internal challenges within the party.
In a resignation letter dated July 1, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Igumale Ward 1, Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Ogbu stated that his decision was reached after careful reflection on the party’s lack of cohesion and direction.
“As I begin a new chapter with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the platform adopted by the National Coalition, I do so with sincere gratitude for the opportunities, support, and enriching relationships I enjoyed during my time in the party,” Ogbu noted in his letter.
He expressed appreciation to the PDP for the goodwill extended to him both personally and politically, while also wishing the party success in its future endeavors.
Ogbu’s resignation marks another major loss for the PDP in Benue South, coming just days after former House of Representatives member Hon. Hassan Saleh also announced his departure from the party.
