Akase addresses NKST Synod on guber ambition 

In continuation of his quest to govern Benue State come 2023, a top governorship aspirant on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP platform, Mr Terver Akase Thursday in Gboko addressed the ongoing Synod of the Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST) at its headquarters in Mkar.

Addressing the Synod, Mr Akase said he came to solicit prayers and support of the Church over his intention to become the next Governor of the State, saying he has sufficiently prepared himself counting on God’s guidance.

He acknowledged the enormous contribution of the NKST Church in moulding the lives of many people as well as their constant prayers towards the success of the Governor Samuel Ortom led administration.

The immediate past Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said having worked closely with Governor Ortom for the past six years, he is abreast of the challenges facing the State and will partner with the Church and other relevant stakeholders to profer solutions to the challenges, promising to always consult the Synod for wise counsel if given the opportunity to govern the State.

He stated that his cardinal pillars of governance will be agriculture, education, wealth and job creation for the youth through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), stressing that he will leverage on the ICT framework put in place by the present administration.

The 2023 guber hopeful also expressed his desire to ensure access to quality healthcare delivery, saying he will implement the health insurance scheme of the State, equip general hospitals and build more primary health centres.

Responding, President of NKST, Reverend Dominic Andza commended Mr Akase for making known his ambition before the Synod. While assuring him of the prayers for the realization of his aspiration, Reverend Andza noted that as a Church, they are duty bound to embrace everyone in the contest.

He said the NKST does not discriminate and has always supported people from all faiths to ascend leadership positions and urged Mr Akase to be prayerful and seek the face God, saying only God makes leaders.

Former Secretary General of NKST, Reverend Gwaza Adzuana led the Synod to offer prayers for Mr Akase to succeed in his quest.

Mr Akase was accompanied on the visit by his wife Mrs Jessica Akase, a retired Permanent Secretary in the State civil service, Mr Tyosange Akaagerger, a one time Chairman of Konshisha LGA, elder Omo Lele among others.
