APC primaries: Catherine Iduh warns against imposition, money politics in Enone
A House of Representatives aspirant for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Catherine Agada Joseph Iduh, has cautioned stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the imposition of candidates and the influence of money politics ahead of the party’s primaries in Enone.
Iduh gave the warning during her recent homecoming visits to Ichama and Okpoga in Okpokwu Local Government Area, where she engaged party members, community leaders, youths and women on the need for a credible and transparent primary process.
According to her, the future of Enone depends largely on the ability of party leaders to conduct free, fair and inclusive primaries that reflect the will of the people rather than personal or sectional interests.
She urged APC stakeholders to prioritise competence, integrity and proven capacity in choosing candidates, stressing that the era of favouritism and imposition must give way to people-oriented leadership.
During the visit, the aspirant held interactive sessions with youths, encouraging them to remain hopeful and actively participate in the political process. She also met with students of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, where she emphasised dialogue and peaceful engagement in resolving conflicts.
Iduh further paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Okpokwu Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Inalegwu Adah, as part of her ongoing consultations across the constituency.
She noted that Enone is currently facing significant challenges, including unemployment, insecurity and poor infrastructure, adding that only credible leadership can address these issues effectively.
Reaffirming her commitment to purposeful and inclusive representation, Iduh called on party leaders to ensure that the APC primaries are conducted in a manner that promotes unity, fairness and the collective interest of the people.
