The Management of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has released an official statement regarding the school’s official resumption and post-UTME as ASUU strike lingers.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the management of Unilorin said the official release became important following news making round that the school re-opens on the 20th of October, 2022.

The Management in a statement on Tuesday said, “we are still expecting a categorical statement of strike call-off from ASUU before any decision of official resumption date could be arrived at.”

Unilorin directed admission seekers for the Post-UTME await official communication from the school management before purchase of forms.

It said, “This is to inform all admission applicants to the University of Ilorin that the institution is yet to take any decision on the 2022/2023 Post-UTME screening.”

The statement further advised all students of Unilorin, “This statement does not originate from the university management.

“They should, therefore, disregard a message currently flying around online platforms to the effect that the University has started the process for the sale of Post-UTME screening registration forms.

“This is the handiwork of scammers and admission seekers should disregard it,” the statement added.

“We are still expecting a categorical statement of strike call-off from ASUU before any decision of official resumption date could be arrived at.”

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on an indefinite on February 14, to press demand for better funding of university education in the country and better welfare for lecturers.
