The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has said Governor Nyesom Wike is the Jagaban of the opposition party.

Wike contested the PDP ticket but lost to Atiku.
He was tipped by PDP stakeholders as Atiku’s running mate but the latter opted for Ifeanyi Okowa.

The development has torn the party apart, with many governors threatening to dump the PDP.

However, Atiku said he holds Wike in high esteem, stressing that he is a man of revolution.

He disclosed this through the spokesperson of his presidential campaign, Segun Sowunmi, on Arise Television.

“Wike is our own Jagaban; how do you explain a governor being able to keep other governors in line? One thing you can’t deny is that he has the ability to say it as it is. He will not bend or colour things.

“Atiku holds Wike in high esteem, time and space may not bring them together, but he does. Wike is a man of revolution; he is one of the totems of PDP,” he said.

This is coming few days after report emerged that Wike was having a secret meeting with APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in France.
