Benue: James Oche moves to rehabilitate Ado roads (PHOTOS)
Determined to achieve his rural transformation agenda, Transition Chairman for Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. James Oche has promised to make motorable all year round, some of the roads in the Local Government. Hon. Oche stated this yesterday while inspecting the dilapidated Igumale – Agila road.
Hon. Oche who was in company of some members of the Caretaker committee and Local Government staff said infrastructure was going to set the pace for rural transformation and promised to turn Ado into a huge construction site as soon as funds are made available.
The Council boss who was also forced to ride on a motorcycle because of the deplorable condition of the road promised to liaise with the State government through the Ministry of works to assist the local government in its road rehabilitation efforts and further thanked Gov. Ortom for awarding some road contracts in Ado and pledged to visit the contractor to find out why work had not started in earnest.
To give action to his words, Hon. Oche there and then directed the HOD Works to immediately undertake a survey of the road for council’s immediate action in order to alleviate the suffering of the people. This he maintained was with a view to improving the economic fortunes of the local government. Notice was also given by the Council’s information officer, Mr. Samuel Ofu directing farmers who had planted in drainage ways to try and clear them up to pave way for work to commence.
