EFCC arraigns gov Alia’s suspended aide, Mkor over alleged sextortion, cyberbullying
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the suspended Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, Mr. Donatus Aondona Mkor, before the Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, over allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
Mkor was brought before the court on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, following his arrest by operatives of the EFCC’s Makurdi Zonal Command on June 20, 2025.
According to sources within the Commission, Mkor was arrested after several female students submitted petitions accusing him of sexual exploitation under the pretext of offering them ushering jobs.
The petitioners allege that the former aide coerced them into sexual acts, secretly recorded the encounters, and used the videos to blackmail them into further submission.
The EFCC stated that the charges against Mkor include offenses bordering on cyberstalking, blackmail, and violation of the Cybercrimes Act. He was reportedly engaged in a pattern of harassment and intimidation targeting vulnerable young women, many of whom were university students.
During Wednesday’s court proceedings, the prosecution presented evidence obtained during investigations, including electronic devices allegedly used to store explicit recordings and threatening messages.
Meanwhile, the Benue State Government had earlier suspended Mkor following the emergence of the allegations, pending the outcome of investigations and legal proceedings.
