Ado Local Government Executive Chairman, James Oche has said the attack on Apa-Ogbozu, Anmeka and Ugboghelle communities of the local government is barbaric, inhuman and unacceptable.

Oche stated this earlier today while briefing newsmen in Igumale, the Local Government Headquarters. Mr. Oche lamented that, the sustained attacks on his people had culminated into the loss of several lives and destruction of properties worth hundreds of millions of naira and called in the security agencies to trail the perpetrators with the view of bringing them to book.

Reports have it that, the crisis is an ensuing, agelong misunderstanding between the people of Ezza and Effium who are both indigenous to Ebonyi State but resident in Benue too along the boarder lines.

Mr. Oche has warned the perpetrators of these dastardly acts to desist forthwith, turn themselves into the nearest police stations for self-report or face the wrath of his administration and the security agencies.

Mr. Oche has also appealed to government at all levels, especially the Federal Government of Nigeria to wade into the situation by intensifying security presence at the border line with the view of a lasting solution.

Oche who expressed worry over the rising number of internally displaced persons further called for support to contain the demandin humanitarian situation at hand.

Meanwhile, the Ado Local Government Chairman has appreciated the Senator representing Benue South District Comrade Patrick Abba Moro for moving a motion on the floor of the Senate, calling on the Federal Government and relevant security and humanitarian agencies to come in to salvage the deteriorating situation occasioned by the attacks on his people.
