  1. Kidnapping Victim Rescued in Zaki Biam: Policemen in Benue State have successfully rescued a 50-year-old kidnap victim at Tine Nine, Zaki Biam, in the Ukum Local Government Area of the state. This was revealed by the Commander of Operation Zenda, SP Felix Nomiyugh, during a briefing with journalists in Makurdi on Tuesday.

Onjeh Criticizes APC Leadership: Comrade Daniel Onjeh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s 2023 senatorial candidate for Benue South, has criticized the national Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the National Working Committee (NWC) over their handling of the party’s crisis in Benue.

Stakeholders Condemn Detention of Lawmaker: APC stakeholders from Katsina-Ala local government area have strongly condemned the continued detention of Jonathan Agbidyeh, the member representing Katsina Ala East Constituency. They have called for his immediate release, highlighting that Agbidyeh has been in detention for over seven days. The stakeholders, represented by Chief Fanen Ihyongo, also urged the public to disregard misleading publications targeting the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, regarding Agbidyeh’s detention.

EFCC Recovers N7.8 Million for BIPC: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced a significant recovery of N7.8 million for the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC). The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, made this disclosure in Makurdi.

Governor Alia’s Visit to Benue State Hospitals Management Board: Governor Rev Fr Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia paid an unscheduled visit to the Benue State Hospitals Management Board in Makurdi on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Expressing disappointment at the dilapidated state of the building housing over 200 board staff, the Governor pledged his administration’s commitment to reconstructing and furnishing it with modern facilities.

BIPC Seeks Cooperation for Gratuity Recovery: The management of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has requested the cooperation of the Head of Service, Dr. Moses Agbogbo Ode, to facilitate the recovery of over 228 million naira deducted from the gratuity of retired civil servants but not remitted to the company. The Managing Director and Chief Executive of BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, made this appeal during a courtesy visit to the state secretariat in Makurdi.

Governor Alia Approves Full Autonomy for Benue Local Governments: The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev Fr Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has granted full autonomy to Benue Local Governments. Additionally, a 2-day sensitization and reorientation workshop for the local government interim caretaker committee has been scheduled to enhance operational efficiency.
