BREAKING: Appeal sacks Ombugadu, reinstates AA Sule as Nasarawa governor

The Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the victory of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule on Thursday. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had initially declared Sule, a member of the All Progressives Congress, as the winner, with David Ombugadu from the Peoples Democratic Party coming in second.
However, the tribunal, led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, issued a divided judgment asserting that, based on evidence from various polling units, Ombugadu had the majority of valid votes in the election. In response, Sule appealed the tribunal’s decision, seeking the appellate court to overturn it.
In the recent judgment delivered on Thursday, the Court of Appeal removed from its records the evidence and exhibits presented by PW5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 20, and 21, which the tribunal had relied on.
Further details will be provided later.
