BREAKING: Drama as soldiers block Wike from accessing land in Abuja

Tension erupted in Abuja on Monday after soldiers reportedly stopped the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and officials of the FCT Administration from gaining access to a parcel of land.

In a video shared by Channels Television on YouTube, Wike was seen engaging the soldiers in a heated exchange, demanding to see the documents authorizing their presence on the property.

One of the soldiers was heard insisting that he had the necessary documents for the land, prompting the visibly angry minister to question the legality of their actions.

“I am the Minister of the FCT. You cannot tell me that. You cannot continue to act with such impunity. Where is the approval given to these people? You cannot continue this way; this country cannot continue along this line,” Wike said.

He continued, “Even if the person who sent you has a problem, he should have reached out to me. Instead, he sends soldiers to intimidate people? We are all part of this government; no one is above the law. You cannot use guns to stop officials from doing their work.”

The development has sparked fresh debate over the use of military personnel in civil matters and the growing tension surrounding land ownership in the Federal Capital Territory.
