BREAKING: Ministry of Works staff lock Umahi inside office
Protesting workers at the Ministry of Works in Nigeria have reportedly locked Minister Dave Umahi inside his office, accusing him of high-handedness. The workers were allegedly denied access to the ministry for arriving late.
The union members from the Housing and Works Ministry blocked entry and exit points, effectively confining the minister to his office. They voiced grievances about Umahi’s alleged interference in the work of engineers and directors, as well as his alleged violation of public service rules by bringing in consultants to manage the ministry.
The workers claim that Umahi has not been responsive to their attempts to discuss their concerns. As of now, the minister and his aides have not been available for comment on the situation. The protest highlights tensions and discontent within the ministry.
