Late Brigadier General Braimah, others buried with full military honours in Maiduguri
The remains of late Brigadier General Omo Braimah, Captain Azubuike Michael Esimai, and other fallen soldiers were on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, committed to mother earth in a solemn ceremony held at the Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The emotional event drew grieving relatives, military personnel, and top government officials, as the deceased were honoured for their sacrifice in the line of duty.
They were laid to rest with full military rites, reflecting their dedication and service to the nation.
Among dignitaries present were Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chief of Army Staff, alongside other senior officers.
In separate tributes, the officials described the late soldiers as courageous patriots who paid the ultimate price while defending the country.
They emphasized that the bravery and commitment of the fallen heroes would continue to inspire future generations.
Prayers were offered for the repose of their souls, while their service records were read out before their families, highlighting their contributions and sacrifice.
The ceremony served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in protecting Nigeria’s unity and security.
