BREAKING: 2027 will be my last attempt at the presidency – Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared that the 2027 presidential race will mark his final attempt at the nation’s highest office.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, Atiku—who has pursued the presidency since 1992—made the announcement clear.
“The 2027 election will be my last outing”, he said.
When questioned on why Nigerians should still consider voting for him despite multiple previous bids and concerns about his age, the former Vice President maintained that Nigeria’s major challenge remains poor leadership.
He added that he embodies both the country’s past experience and its future direction.
Atiku also emphasized the importance of structured leadership development for young Nigerians, noting that such training is essential for national progress.
