The Nigerian Federal Government has greenlit a significant boost in the salaries of civil servants.

Polytechnics and colleges of education also witness adjustments under the Consolidated Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Academic Staff Salary Structure (CONPCASS) and Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS).

Moreover, the Health Sector experiences enhancements through the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) and Consolidated Health Sector Salary Structure (CONHESS).

As stated by Emmanuel Njoku, the Head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), these increments are effective from January 1, 2024.

Also, the Federal Government has endorsed a pension rise ranging from 20% to 28% for pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme within the aforementioned six consolidated salary structures, with effect from January 1, 2024.
