A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, is currently in a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed.
It was gathered that the high-level meeting is taking place at the Bauchi State Government House, with several Southeast senators in attendance.
Speaking during a phone conversation, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, confirmed that Obi arrived with a delegation from the Southeast.
“Obi came with his team from the Southeast, which included some senators. We are in Bauchi right now, and pictures and more details will soon be made public,” Tanko said.
The development comes amid speculations that Mohammed may be considering a defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Political observers suggest that the Bauchi governor could be weighing options within the ADC as part of ongoing realignments ahead of future elections.
