The Benue State Police Command has apprehended a female armed bandit known to be an associate of the notorious militia kingpin, Ukum Dekera, also known as Chen. She was captured by the Special Joint Task Force of the Benue State Police Command, operating under the codename Operation Zenda.

The joint task force, led by Superintendent of Police, SP Felix Arumun Nomiyugh, detained the female armed bandit, identified as Faith Torkule, aged 37, at Gbagir village in Tyuruv ward of Ukum LGA in the state. She was apprehended along the Wukari-Zaki Biam road at Ayati junction, in possession of two hundred (200) live rounds of ammunition suitable for a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and 117 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

These bandits have been wreaking havoc in the areas surrounding Ukum, Joortar, Wukari, and neighboring villages within the local area. The communities of Ukum, Wukari, in Benue and Taraba states have endured relentless attacks by bandits for years. Despite joint security operations in the region, the situation remains dire.
