A 21-year-old woman, Sukura Owodunni, has reportedly suffered severe burns after an incident in which a pastor named Taiwo Odebiyi allegedly set her on fire during an attempt to perform a deliverance session at his Cherubim and Seraphim Maberu Parish situated in Offin, within the Sagamu region of Ogun State.

According to information gathered by PUNCH Metro, the event transpired on August 17, 2023, when the victim responded to an invitation from the pastor for a specialized prayer session at the church.

Reports reveal that during the prayer, the pastor instructed the victim to acquire Amazing Grace perfume, local eggs, and a candle for the ritual.

While conducting the prayer, the pastor is said to have poured the perfume on the lady’s body and ignited the candle. Tragically, upon igniting the candle, Sukura Owodunni apparently caught fire, sustaining significant burns to her chest, shoulder, and legs.
