Delta election: Obidients celebrate victory of Ken Pela of LP in court

Supporters of Labour Party and Peter Obi, otherwise known as Obidients have taken to their social media platforms to celebrate the victory of Ken Pela at the Court of Appeal.

IDOMA VOICE reports that Pela had approached the tribunal to challenge the victory of Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the last governorship election in Delta State.

Pela polled 48,027 votes to come behind Oborevwori of the PDP and Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Party (APC), who scored, 360,234 and 240,229 votes respectively.

Consequently, he went to the tribunal to challenge the result and the declaration of Oborevwori as winner.

His case at the tribunal was thrown out for some flimsy reason, and he approached the court of appeal for redress.

However, the appellate court, in its verdict on Thursday, ruled in his (Pela) favour.

The development triggered celebration in the camp of Obi and LP’ supporters.
