“Don’t test President Trump” – U.S. Congressman, Moore warns Tinubu

A member of the United States Congress, Riley Moore, representing West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, has issued a stern warning to Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him not to “test” President Donald Trump’s resolve following the U.S. leader’s recent threat of military action over the continued killing of Christians in Nigeria.

Trump had on Friday declared that the United States would “immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria” and may “go in guns-a-blazing” if the Nigerian government fails to end what he described as the ongoing massacre of Christians by Islamic extremists.

Reacting to Trump’s statement, Congressman Moore took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to amplify the warning, saying the U.S. “will not sit by and watch their brothers and sisters in Christ being murdered.”

“To the Government of Nigeria and @officialABAT: President Trump has provided forewarning if you do not correct the current state of inaction to stop the killing of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your country,” Moore wrote.

“The days of the U.S. looking the other way are over — it will never happen on @POTUS’ watch.

“I urge you to cooperate with us in preventing this atrocity that worsens every day. We want your people to live in peace — all of them, especially Christians.

“The President has been clear. I would not test his resolve. Many have tried and all have failed. We will not allow the gates of hell to prevail against the faithful.”

The lawmaker’s warning comes amid escalating international scrutiny of Nigeria’s handling of religious and communal violence, particularly in Benue, Plateau, Taraba, and parts of Kaduna State, where hundreds have been killed in recent years in attacks linked to herders, bandits, and extremist militias.
