Canadian Hip-hop rapper and producer, Aubrey Drake Graham, popularly known as Drake has lost his bet by staking on Kamaru Usman to defeat Leon Edwards in a UFC 278 fight.

The 35-year-old Toronto born is known for staking large amounts when it comes to UFC fights. He recently backed British pair Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann in a double bet which saw him pocket a tidy £3million.

Drake also backed the UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya to defeat Jared Cannonier at UFC 276, which seemed to eliminate the so-called ‘Drake Curse’.

However, Saturday’s fight didn’t go his way, Drake had two separate wagers on Kamaru Usman who was until Saturday, the welterweight champion to retain his title. Drake backed the Nigerian to win by KO in a bet worth around $149,000 in addition to a separate stake of $49,000 that he would pick up the win in round four.

Unfortunately, Usman was defeated by a booming kick from Leon Edwards who was behind on points in the fifth round. Edwards becomes the first British champion since Michael Bisping in 2016 and only the second in UFC history.
