EPL: Arsenal suffer another injury setback after win vs Man City

Arsenal defender, William Saliba who showcased a brilliant performance against Manchester City, helping secure a 1-0 victory for his team, has unfortunately withdrawn from the upcoming international break with the French squad due to a toe injury.

The 22-year-old was instrumental in marking Erling Haaland and limiting his impact during the match, contributing to Arsenal’s Premier League win against Pep Guardiola’s champions at the Emirates Stadium.

However, as reported by standard.co.uk, Saliba’s participation with the French squad has been canceled post-match due to the injury. Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice has been selected as his replacement.

Initially expected to join the French team in their matches against the Netherlands and Scotland, Saliba will now focus on his recovery. This development follows Bukayo Saka, another Arsenal player, also withdrawing from international duty due to injuries.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, anticipates the return of both Saka and Saliba for club football when the Gunners face crucial away matches against Chelsea in the Premier League and Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on matchday three, after the international break.
