EXCLUSIVE! 22-year-old Idoma girl bags first class in UNILAG, graduates as overall best in mathematics with 4.76 CGPA

A 22-year-old Ochanya Cynthia Ogidi has made her family, nay, the Idoma community proud after she bagged first class from the University of Lagos.
Ogidi who is also the best graduating student from the Mathematics department of the prestigious institution scored 4.76 GCPA.
The Otukpa-born, Ogbadibo native, while speaking exclusively with IDOMA VOICE on Thursday attributed her academic feat to God and determination.

“It is just God. I was also focused and determined. I always stayed awake at night. I read a lot and I also pray always.”
Asked how she was able to overcome school distractions, the charming girl said, “for me there was nothing like distraction. I go to church. I play with friends and I do what I was supposed to do. You will only get distracted when you want to,” she said.
On why she chose to study maths, Ogidi said, “mathematics is interesting. I wonder why many people hate it. I see it as the simplest subject. I enjoy it a lot because we did mostly abstract stuffs,” the elated young woman told IDOMA VOICE on phone.

Meanwhile, the convocation programmes, which has formally kicked off with the media briefing, will also feature a convocation lecture to be delivered by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonaya Onu on Monday, February 28.

Her academic feat is coming after her other Idoma brother, Hillary Odeh Agbo broke BSU academic record, after he bagged First Class after 17 carryovers
