Idoma-born Moses Simon, Osimhen, Iwobi, others make Eagles’ squad for Nigeria vs Sierra Leone AFCON Qualifier
Benue-born Nantes FC winger, Moses Simon is among the 24-man squad shortlisted by the NFF for the Gernot Rohr men’s 2022 African Cup Of Nation Qualifier against Sierra Leone.
The list comprising 3 goal keepers, 4 midfielder, 9 defenders and 8 forwards, saw team star attacker, Victor Osimhen and led midfielders; Joe Aribo and Peter, Etebo who were out of the two crucial friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia, returned.
Also returning is team number one goal keeper, Daniel Akpeyi.
Striker Bonaventure was recalled, while young goal stopper, Osigwe was handed his first call for the national team.
Midfielders; Onyenka, Ebuechi, attackers; Musa, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, Ejuke, Chukwueze, Iheanacho, and defenders; Ekong, Akpoguma, Collins, Sanusi, Ola Aina, Ajayi, Omeruo, Awaziem and Balogun with goal keeper Maduka Okoye, who were on the squad for the friendlies in Austria were all recalled.
Nwakali, Onuachu, Francis Uzoho, Tijani, Shehu, Raman Azeez and Okechukwu Ezenwa are on standy-by.
