1. Suspected herders on Wednesday afternoon, killed five people at Yelwata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
A resident of the area who simply gave his name as Orduen, said that the suspected herders invaded the community around 1:00pm on Wednesday and shot at people who were on their farms.
2. The All Progressives Congress, APC, 2023 Senatorial Candidate for Benue South, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, has identified underdevelopment as the major challenge of the Benue zone C.
Onjeh, who spoke on Saturday during the inauguration of the Advisory Council, Directorates and other hierarchies of his campaign organization held in Otukpo Benue State, opined that the challenges facing the people of the Senatorial District was neither ethnicity nor religion, but the common, deeply ingrained problem of underdevelopment.
3. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has said while he deeply appreciates the call by the group known as Movement for Good Governance and Democracy, as well as other Nigerians who have expressed concerns that he should have been on the list of those recently given national awards by President Muhammadu Buhari, his focus is on serving the people of the State.

4. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), in Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM) on Monday said their offices are not safe for immediate habitation as reptiles have taken over them.
Chairman of ASUU JOSTUM, Prof. Ameh Ejembi, who spoke to journalists in Makurdi, noted that the congress met earlier on Monday to review its NEC directive for the suspension of the eight-month-old strike embarked by the union and that they resolved to resume work immediately.

5.Three members of the robbery gang tormenting parts of Ukum Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue State have been killed in a gun battle with men of the Benue State Police Command in the Afia axis of the state.
The police also recovered a gun, ammunition, machete and charms from members of the gang some of who reportedly escaped with bullet wounds.
6. Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, Sunday, expressed worry over the deplorable state of infrastructure in Benue state.
He promised to fix the state when he becomes governor in 2023.
7. Following the directive of the national body, the Academic Staff Union of Universities of Benue State University (ASUU BSU), Makurdi and of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM), now Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University (JOSTUN), have both suspended their eight months old strike action.
The suspension was communicated shortly after a separate congress meeting held by the schools on Monday.

8. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, has been criticized for warning Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State against procuring weapons for the newly-established Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, BSCVGs.
Irabor had issued the warning following the one-month ultimatum Ortom gave the Federal Government to approve the request to arm the BSCVGs for effective operation.
Reacting, the Coalition of Southern and Middle-Belt Youth Leaders Assembly, COSMBYLA, described Irabor’s warning as careless and shameful.
