Latest News on NELFUND Student Loan Approval, Disbursement Today, October 11, 2025
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced a final 48-hour reopening of its student verification portal to allow tertiary institutions that are yet to finalize their verification processes to do so.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Friday in Abuja by the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.
According to her, the verification portal will be open from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Oluwatuyi explained that the brief extension aims to ensure that all eligible students are properly captured and verified by their respective institutions as part of the ongoing 2024/2025 NELFUND loan application process.
“Institutions are strongly advised to take full advantage of this final opportunity. Failure to complete the verification process within the stipulated timeframe will result in exclusion from the current loan cycle, which will unfortunately deprive their students the ultimate beneficiaries of access to the scheme,” she said.
She further noted that, in line with NELFUND’s commitment to transparency and accountability, the list of defaulting institutions will be made public.
Oluwatuyi reaffirmed the Fund’s dedication to promoting equitable access to higher education through the transparent and inclusive management of Nigeria’s interest-free student loan scheme.
