Lobi stars endorse Otukpo Chairman’s Cup tournament

The management of Lobi Stars FC Makurdi has endorsed the maiden edition of the Otukpo Local Government Chairman’s cup competition 2021, ahead of its kickoff on Sunday 7th March.

The professional club assured the Otukpo Council Chairman that they will be in Otukpo to witness the tournament; even as preparation for the grassroots football tournament which holds at Jesus College Otukpo till it reaches its final stage.

The Director of Sports, Benue State Sports Council, Mr. Philip Nongu, gave the endorsement when he received Rt.Hon. George Alli at Aper Aku stadium along with some officials of Lobi Stars FC, and praised him for his interest in sports development, especially at the grassroots level.

Hon. Alli Said, “I am here to thank the management and officials of Lobi Stars for their show of love and interest in the Chairman’s Cup football tournament and to formerly invite you once more to the tournament. Thank you so much”.

The Director of Sports, Benue State Sports Council, Mr. Philip Nongu said, “We are proud of you. What you are doing is what we have being hoping for. Before I came on board I discovered that grassroots sports, (especially football which is our main sport) has been abandoned. Be assured we are totally with you on this”.

The Otukpo Local Government Chairman was at Aper Aku Stadium in Makirdi to witness football clinic organized for kids by the management of Lobi Stars FC.
