Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is set to face a fine of £650,000, equivalent to two weeks’ salaries, after being caught partying in a nightclub in Northern Ireland on Thursday.

The decision to impose the hefty fine was made by Manchester United following the incident, as reported by The Sun.

Despite reporting ill for training on Friday, Rashford was spotted in a Belfast nightclub and subsequently missed Manchester United’s 4-2 victory against Newport County on Sunday.

The club attributed Rashford’s absence to ‘illness,’ but his nightclub appearance contradicted this claim.

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, addressed the issue, stating that he would “deal with” it.

However, Ten Hag did not confirm whether Rashford had provided false information regarding the nightclub visit.

In his post-match press conference after the 4-2 win against Newport County, Ten Hag commented, “He reported ill, for the rest it’s an internal matter, I’ll deal with it.”
