Mohbad: Reps summon Naira Marley over Imole’s royalties
The House of Representatives has issued a summons to Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, as part of its efforts to secure proper compensation and royalties for the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, who went by the stage name Mohbad, and died recently in circumstances shrouded in controversy.
This action was taken by the House of Representatives through its Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance. The manager of the late singer, Jiggy Adeoye, has also been invited to participate in an interactive session scheduled for Tuesday.
Mohbad, who was previously signed to Naira Marley’s record label, passed away on September 12 at the age of 27.
The House decided to intervene in the matter after a motion was put forth by Babajimi Benson, a member of the House of Representatives representing the APC in Lagos. The motion received unanimous support from the House.
