The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has announced the sealing of Purity Agro Chemical Centre in Gboko, Benue State, after discovering 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals.
In a statement released on Friday via its official X handle, NAFDAC explained that the warehouse was found to be storing 724 cartons of expired Patriarc agrochemicals, which were being illegally revalidated with new shelf lives for distribution.
Additionally, various unregistered products, including Kris Herbicide, E-Tong Reapon 800WG, Onion Texas, Tomato Chiloli, and Hot Pepper, were also discovered.
NAFDAC operatives seized both the expired and unregistered chemicals, securing the facility. The owner of the company is currently on the run, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
NAFDAC has urged consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious products or activities to the nearest NAFDAC office to help protect public safety.
