NECO releases June, July 2023 SSCE results

The results for the June/July 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) have been released by the National Examination Council (NECO). It was reported that 61.60% of students achieved five credits or more in English Language and Mathematics.

The announcement was made by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NECO, at the NECO headquarters during a briefing with journalists in Minna, Niger State.

Prof. Wushishi revealed that a total of 1,205,888 students registered for the examination. Out of this figure, 1,196,985 students actually sat for the exams, comprising 616,398 males and 580,587 females.

Comparing these results to the 2022 SSCE results, which had a 60.74% success rate, the 2023 SSCE results exhibited a slight decrease of 0.86% in the number of candidates achieving five credits or more in both subjects.

In 2021, 71.64% of students obtained five credits in the two main subjects.
