New tenants disappear with four children three days after moving in

Tension has gripped Ogwashi-Uku in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State following the reported abduction of four children by suspected child traffickers on Sunday.
It was gathered that two of the abducted children, Ebube and Miracle, are siblings, while the other two—Chimanda and Excel—belong to another family. The incident reportedly occurred in the Umuokwe area of the town.
Community members alleged that three women, who had recently rented an apartment in the neighborhood, were behind the disappearance. According to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, one of the women lured the children by promising to buy them biscuits from a nearby shop.
“It was when the children were no longer seen around the compound that neighbors began to worry. When they went to check on the women’s apartment, it was completely empty the women and the children had vanished,” a resident said.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
“The children were abducted three days after the women rented the apartment,” Edafe said. “Unfortunately, there’s no trace of them no names, no phone numbers, no agreement. The landlady rented out the apartment without collecting any verifiable details.”
He further disclosed that the landlady has been arrested due to her suspicious involvement.
