NUBESS Honours Moro, Akume, applauds Tinubu’s youth welfare policies
The Nigerian Union of Benue State Students NUBESS, University of Abuja chapter, has honoured Abba Moro and George Akume for their contributions to youth development and national service, while also applauding the youth-focused policies of President Bola Tinubu.
The recognition came as former NUBESS President, Ishalu Clement, marked his Passing Out Parade of the National Youth Service Corps in Abuja after serving at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
On the occasion, Ishalu dedicated his Certificate of National Service to Senators Moro and Akume in appreciation of what he described as their immense contributions to youth development, national service and support for Benue students.
He said the leadership style of the two politicians continues to inspire young people to remain committed to community development and national progress.
According to him, the dedication also recognised their support for NUBESS and the welfare of Benue students during his tenure as president of the association.
The event also featured an award presented on behalf of NUBESS to the honourees, which was delivered by the outgoing President of the University of Abuja chapter of the association, Ameh Elijah.
While speaking, Ishalu commended President Tinubu for policies aimed at improving youth and students’ welfare, particularly the increase in corps members’ allowance and the implementation of the student loan initiative.
He noted that the interventions have brought relief to many Nigerian students, especially those from less privileged backgrounds, adding that they have renewed hope for access to higher education.
“As a young graduate and youth leader, I remain optimistic that ongoing economic policies will further drive job creation and expand opportunities for youth employment and productivity,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for the opportunity to serve during his national assignment.
Ishalu called for sustained support for youth development initiatives, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future and urging young people to remain committed to national service and community advancement.
