Police allegedly arrest woman ‘harbouring suspected armed robbers’

The Police in Bauchi State has reportedly arrested a woman allegedly harboring criminals, two thieves and armed robbery suspects.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil stated this on Thursday in Bauchi.
He said operatives of the command, acting on credible information, arrested one Sadiya Mohammed Yaro aka Sadiya Kaura, 28, of Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi.

According to him, the suspect had been harbouring criminals in her residence at Kofar Dumi, adding that immediately after the attack of Komiti office in Bauchi, she made some audio recording hailing the hoodlums and supporting them.

Wakil said the police arrested two suspects namely; Yakubu Hussaini aka Abba Laba, 20, and Bashir Ibrahim aka Bashoo, 23, both of Kofar Dumi. They are among the notorious armed robbers terrorising Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau and Kaduna states.
He said the suspects had escaped from lawful custody in 2019, adding that they engaged themselves among those attacked Komiti office in Zango and Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi. “Suspects will be profile and charge to court,” he said.

Also, the police spokesman announced the arrest of two suspects namely; Kabiru Adamu, 25, of Igbo Quarters Bauchi and Markus Kyala, 45, of Bigi Village Bauchi L.G.A. The suspects went to Bauchi State Development Board where 650 tricycles (Keke Napep) were purchased by Bauchi State Government for disbursement.

He said the suspects conspired among themselves and stole 127 spare tyres of tricycles but some were recovered from them.
Wakil said investigation is on-going on all the cases after which suspects will be charged to court.
He reiterated the commitment of the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police Lawal Tanko Jimeta to protect lives and properties in the state.
