The Senator representing the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, felicitates with the Adirahu Ny’Igede, Ada’tu Obi, Ada’tu Oju and the entire Al’Igede on this year’s Igede Agba celebration (New Yam Festival).

The event of Igede Agba, which annually oscillates between 1st and 5th of September (usually on the first ‘Ihigile Market Day’ of September), is a cultural anniversary commemorating the progenitor of the Igede people and thanksgiving to God (Ohe) for bountiful harvest of new yams, and prayers for subsequent bumper yields.

Senator Moro recognizes the importance of this festival to the Igede nation and identifies with them on its celebration.

The Distinguished Senator prays God to continue to bless Igede land to yield more bountiful harvest in the years ahead.

Senator Moro enjoins the Igedes to use this occasion to bond together and show love to one another for the good of the land.

He wishes them a happy celebration.

Ameh Godwin,

SA (P & E) to the Senator
