The leaked video depicting Amihere engaging in sexual activities with a man identified as Henry Fitz has ignited controversy.

There’s speculation that the video dates back to 2019, before Fitz’s marriage. Some claim Amihere attended Fitz’s wedding as a guest before allegedly becoming involved with him.

The circulation of the video has sparked widespread outrage, resulting in disparaging remarks and ridicule aimed at Amihere due to her social standing.

In response, Amihere took to her social media platforms to issue an apology and provide context to the situation.

She revealed she had been subjected to months of blackmail before the sex tape was made public. Expressing remorse for the embarrassment caused to herself, her family, and her professional affiliations, Amihere acknowledged the impact of the leaked video on both her personal and professional life.

“On April 2, 2024, someone posted an intimate video of me on the internet. This came almost 5 months after threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book,” she wrote.

“The video, recorded 5 years ago, has severely embarrassed me, my family, and my loved ones. It has also exposed my employers and the businesses and brands I represent to embarrassment.”

Amihere emphasized that the video has caused significant distress to herself and her loved ones, as well as tarnishing her professional reputation. She extended her apologies to those affected by the incident and affirmed her commitment to learning from her past mistakes.

“At the time, 5 years ago, I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potential, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society,” she wrote.

“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration that this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you. In all, I have learned deeply useful lessons for the future.”

Meanwhile, authorities in Ghana are investigating three people suspected of disseminating the video.
