The proud father of the talented superstar siblings, Lauren James, and Reece James, couldn’t contain his excitement as he compared his daughter’s gameplay to the legendary Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona.

Lauren James initially started the tournament on the bench for England’s opening match against Haiti, but her impact in the subsequent two games was nothing short of spectacular. The 21-year-old earned a spot in the starting lineup for the last two matches and seized the opportunity to showcase her extraordinary talent.

In England’s crucial match against Denmark, James netted the decisive winner, leading her team to a 1-0 victory. But her brilliance didn’t stop there. In a resounding 6-1 triumph over China, James played a pivotal role in five of the goals, contributing two goals herself and creating opportunities for her teammates.

Her father, Nigel, shared his pride and admiration for her performance in an interview with BBC Sport, stating, “Lauren (has) done goals like that when she was younger for years. And you just look and think to yourself, that word freedom, that’s what you talk about, Ronaldinho, Messi, those players, Maradona, had that freedom to play. She has the ability to do that.”

Comparing Lauren James to football icons like Messi and Maradona speaks volumes about her immense potential and natural talent. Her ability to create magic on the field and her fearless approach to the game draw parallels with some of the greatest players in history.
