Spanish midfield sensation Gabri Veiga has joined the ranks of the Saudi Pro League’s latest standout transfers.

Leaving behind his roots at Celta Vigo, Veiga has chosen to embrace a new chapter in his career by signing a three-year contract with Al-Ahli.

This addition bolsters Al-Ahli’s lineup as Veiga becomes the eighth significant signing for the club this summer. He joins the ranks alongside notable names like Edouard Mendy, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Franck Kessie, Roger Ibanez, and Merih Demiral.

Celta Vigo’s manager, Rafael Benitez, spoke about Veiga’s departure, stating, “Gabri is a player that has shown his capabilities and performed well. The current market situation is favorable for him. The Arab club has presented a financial offer, a scenario we didn’t actively seek, but that’s the reality.”

Benitez further emphasized the positive impact of the offer on Veiga’s life and family. He noted that due to his age, this opportunity would allow Veiga to later return to competitive leagues after gaining valuable experience in the Saudi Pro League.
