Portuguese Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has hit out on what he called “lies” told about him.

The 37-year-old has been the subject of speculation over his future after missing the pre-season tour. He returned to training later than everyone else alongside his agent, Jorge Mendes, for showdown talks with the club.

According to various reports, Ronaldo made his desire to leave Manchester United known after United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League last season.

Ronaldo commented on his official Instagram account : “They know the truth when they interview in a couple weeks. The media is telling lies. I have a notebook and in the last few months of the 100 news I made, only 5 were right. Imagine how it is. Stick with that tip.”

The Portuguese star was in action for Manchester United last week, as they fell woefully to their host, Brentford, by 4-0. It was the first time the 2012/2013 Premier League winners are losing their first two premier league games for the first time in 30years.

Ronaldo was seen storming off the pitch on Saturday after the defeat to Brentford, and refused to clap Manchester United’s away support as his first start in the Premier League under Erik ten Hag.
