Three men hacked to death in Ogun cultist attack

Three young men fell victim to a brutal attack, resulting in their untimely demise in Abibatu Toronbi Community in Ijoko, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State .

The local community leader reported the gruesome incident to the Ijoko Police Post on October 13, 2023, stating that “three unidentified young men were discovered brutally hacked to death in an abandoned building, suspected to be a criminal hideout within their community.”

Ogun State Police Spokesperson Omolola Odutola revealed that upon receiving the report, law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the scene and observed that the left hands of the deceased had been severed.

Among the slain individuals, two have been identified as Memory and Rilwan. Rilwan was reportedly a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity, a notorious cult group, and had been on the police radar for his alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

The bodies of the victims were respectfully removed and placed in the morgue to facilitate further investigation, while the area remains under heightened surveillance.

Efforts are currently underway to gather additional information regarding the activities of these cult groups and their potential connections to other criminal acts within the region.

“The police are committed to bringing all perpetrators involved in cultism and related crimes to justice, ensuring the safety and security of the community,” she added.
