Tinubu ministerial nominees from North Central [FULL PROFILE]

President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step towards forming his cabinet by submitting a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate on Thursday.

Among the carefully curated list, four names have emerged from the North Central region of Nigeria, IDOMA VOICE reports.

While Kogi, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were not represented in the nominations, the chosen candidates from Nasarawa, Kwara, Benue, and Niger states are poised to play crucial roles in driving progress and development.

Let’s take a closer look at their profiles and accomplishments that have earned them the nod from the president.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim – Nasarawa
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim was formerly the director-general of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) from 1 December 2020 till 27 May 2021, when former President, Muhammadu Buhari announced a swap and she was redeployed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons.

At 19, she graduated from University of Abuja with a degree in sociology. At 21, she received two master’s degrees from Webster University, an MBA and MA.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim was born in Jos, Plateau, but she hails from Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Lateef Fagbemi SAN – Kwara
Lateef Fagbemi was born on June 22, 1956 in Ijagbo, Kwara State, Nigeria.
He is a Senior Advocate of Nigerian (SAN) and a Jurist who has made a significant contribution to the development of Law and Justice in Nigeria. He was called to the bar in 1984.

Prof. Joseph Utsev – Benue
Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev is a civil engineer and former Rector of federal polytechnic, Wanune, Tarka LGA of Benue state.
He was an associate Professor at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
Utsev, from Buruku LGA, was a commissioner in the Samuel Ortom government. He is Tiv, the dominant ethnic group in Benue state.

Mohammed Idris – Niger
Mohammed Idris is publisher of Blueprint Newspaper. The Niger-born media entrepreneur has Masters in English Language from Bayero University Kano.

He served as Communications Consultant on the Promotion of Nomadic Education in Northern Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2007 to 2009.

Led the committee that developed and implemented Training Guide for Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) across Nigeria from 2009 to 2011.

Appointed as Communications Consultant by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 2017 to 2021.

Facilitated the Design and Implementation of Strategic Communications Guidelines for the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development in 2019-2022.
