Troops of Sub-Sector 3B, operating under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have successfully rescued a woman who was kidnapped in Takum Local Government Area, Taraba State.

The rescue operation was reported in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday. According to the update, the troops, stationed at Kufai Amadu in Takum, were alerted around 1:13 p.m. on Friday about the abduction of a woman from Torikegha village, located in Chanchanji Ward.

The woman, Mrs. Iloda Ayinba, was reportedly kidnapped on her way to farm. The suspected abductors were believed to be herdsmen who were reportedly relocating from the area.

Upon receiving the information, the troops swiftly mobilized and launched a search-and-rescue mission. They tracked the kidnappers along their escape route and combed the surrounding bush, extending the search to the power line corridor linking Taraba and Benue states.

The military operation pressured the kidnappers to abandon Mrs. Ayinba in the bush and flee. The woman was rescued unharmed, although there was no contact made with the suspects during the operation.
